Day 37 - Power power lang 'yan

It's all about power.

I suppose that is why whoever printed these things thought it appropriate to use a Game of Thrones character as the sample correct answer for how to vote in the coming national and local elections. Though I'm sure GoT nerds would argue that "Khal" is not Drogo's last name but his title, and it perhaps would've been "more correct" if the choice was "SON OF BHARBO, Drogo."

Except, that wouldn't make any sense to non-fans and I think I'm the only one who cares. I mean, this is most definitely the smallest detail anyone can care about this election season. Am I right, people on social media?

Day 223 - That Mainstream Show

I think this show became famous when I was in college, yes? I think that's the reason I never really got into it. I mean, I knew it was funny because I'd seen some random episodes and people talked about it all the time, but college was a time that I didn't have too much time for TV so I didn't want to get into another show. I only watched the shows that I really couldn't give up, which were Buffy the Vampire Slayer, FRIENDS, and Star Trek: Voyager.

Also, this was considered "cool" (i.e. mainstream) so I instantly wanted to avoid it. God forbid that I actually like what everybody else does, during the exact same time that they like it. ;)

This DVD btw is owned by my brother's girlfriend M.

Day 212 - From Now On...

... I will watch TV in my parents' room. Hehe!

I was watching the BBC Documentary Planet Earth on this TV earlier and then when I went back into my room and watched TMZ on my TV, the screen was suddenly just soooo small. Great.

Day 211 - New Electronics Day

I went to ATC today and bought a new webcam. I was happy to have a new webcam. And then my parents came home with this. Perspective 'eh? You're not successful if you can buy your own webcam. You're successful if you can buy your own TV! But since they're my parents, I'm still happy. :)

Day 202 - Storm Central Outlet

Today I went to Virac, Catanduanes with my parents. Upon arriving at Twin Rock Beach Resort and settling in our room, I found out that the electrical outlets are on the ceiling. We asked the reason to the people who worked there but they didn't know either so I can only assume that it's because Virac is usually affected by typhoons and that it's better to have electrical outlets in high places.

BTW, just to plug in my ipod speakers, I had to tiptoe on a coffee table, which was scary. We later on decided to borrow an extension cord from the front office.

Day 192 - Parallel Trouble Adventure

My sister's Christmas gift! Which, I didn't even know was her gift until she told me; and so for the two weeks that I had it in my room, I didn't open it until she asked if it was playable.

It's a DVD Box Set of the anime series Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure, which my siblings and I used to watch on AXN. It has all 13 episodes of the series and can be watched two ways for non-Japanese speakers -- English dubbed, or with the original Japanese audio with English subtitles. Silly me first thought that the dubbing would be the same as when they showed it in AXN, but it wasn't. So it's kind of weird hearing a different voice for the characters, but at least they don't suck. And I watch most episodes with the original Japanese audio and English subtitles anyway.

I haven't finished watching it yet, but I'm nearly halfway now, I just finished Episode 7. I'm trying to watch it slowly because you know, I don't want it to be over right away, and it only has 13 episodes, so...

Day 189 - Movies and TV

For 1.11.11 I went to see the movie that everyone says makes Philippine Cinema proud, RPG: Metanoia. (See movie ticket on the right.) It was absolutely amazing. :D Which is why, I have no idea why they didn't show it in ATC. I had to go to SM just to see it, just like when I saw Dayo. What? They don't think the kids that go to ATC will want to see this movie? Tsk tsk. Ayala Malls are so elitist. And maybe so am I for not wanting to see movies in SM Cinemas. No, actually, I think I have a good reason. Because the theaters in SM suck. Seriously. I mean, you pay basically the same price (P160) as you would in Ayala Cinemas, but the seats are old (they don't even have cup holders) and the floors are sticky and they don't have guaranteed seating. I mean, I'm lucky I saw this movie when it's been in the theaters for 3 weeks already so it was only me and maybe 10 other people in the theater, but what about for movies that have just come out? You pay P160 and there's a chance you'll have to stand in the aisle. Does that seem fair to you?

As for the other item in the photo, I'm also now a very proud owner of the book by Richard Castle. It's a promotional material for the TV show Castle, which stars Nathan Fillion, of whom I am now officially a fangirl. I love him and I love Castle and I can't wait to read this book (even if I know Nathan Fillion didn't write it, but I'm a fan of his character, too. And I can't wait to find out how Richard Castle really writes).
