Day 36 - On the Grass, Under the Trees, Beside the Mall

Today I tagged along with my friends D&M (and G, who is not in this photo because he was also asleep, but behind me) all the way to Tarlac for a gig. We got there really early so we could explore the area, but because this is still the Philippines, we ended up just hanging out at the mall. It is a pretty cool mall, though. Not at all concrete-y, but grassy and breezy and, because we traveled around 150km to get here, it was mostly impossible not to fall asleep once we'd found a place to sit/lie down.

Day 29 - Park Under Maintenance

I had some things to do in Makati today and as I was walking around the city, I came across this park, which is usually very picturesque, and I guess still is but in a totally different way.

The trees here used to look so pretty and perfect. I honestly don't know what happened, why they cut down some branches and things, but anyway, this is how it looks today. I'm assuming they're just going to fix it. To improve things. And hopefully things do improve.

Day 309 - Lying on the Grass

I was going to take a photo of myself lying on the grass in the Wellington Botanical Garden. But found the view of the sky more interesting.

Day 282 - Park / Fairy Land

Today my sister showed me where the public library was and that there was a park behind it. The leaves were all orange because it's almost winter and doesn't it just look like a magical place? :)

Day 261 - High and Low

Because my sister's in town, our family went to Tagaytay Highlands today. I got to ride the cable cars for the first time! I discovered that you could see the swimming pool from the cable car, and apparently my dad discovered that you could see the cable cars from the swimming pool, too. Here's a picture of him taking a picture of us. ;) You can even see the shadow of our cable car on the ground. Haha, ang babaw ng kaligayahan ko!

Day 166 - Bago Ang Belen

OK, so 'yung mga piyesa hindi bago. Pero bago 'yung bahay kubo nila. As you can see here, this is the aftermath of the making of the belen house, courtesy of Ate M. Ang galing niya, marunong siyang gumamit ng itak at magtirintas ng dahon ng niyog!

These were eventually sweeped up after the Belen (Nativity Scene) house was finished. I was going to post a picture of the belen itself, but I want to save that for another day.

Day 162 - College Campus

I don't want to say what I went to my old college alma mater for today because people will probably ask me about it later on, but you can probably figure it out if you're privy to the "world". What other reason is there to go to De La Salle University in Manila on the first weekend of December when you're not/no longer a student there?

I took this photo when I was on my way out. I didn't love the DLSU campus much because I always think that college campuses should be more like the UP Diliman campus with big football fields and lots of trees, but it does have its merits, like this area. It's not clear here, but there's a small amphitheater on the left, and the big tree that you see there, it's got wind chimes on it such that when the wind blows while you're walking under it, it sounds real nice. :)

Day 152 - Candy Christmas Tree

This is the Christmas tree displayed at SM Southmall today. I don't know if its only there for a program or if it's their decoration for this year. Anyway, candies!

Day 44 - Storm Souvenir

NATURE'S MESS - Fallen leaves and branches from trees around the park

Sorry for the night vision effect. I took this when I was on my way home and it was very very late so I had to edit it a lot (obviously) just so the picture would come out.

Anyway, there was a strong storm the day before (Basyang), which had pretty strong winds so leaves and branches were all over the city. Luckily, there wasn't too much damage, at least, not compared to the previous really strong storms we've had (Ondoy, Milenyo, etc.)
