Day 31 - Dog Lies Sleeping

My dad who is in New Zealand at the moment asked me to take a picture of our puppy (now looking more and more like a dog). I said I couldn't because he was sleeping. So he said I should take a photo of him sleeping. Ta-da!

J likes sleeping in this exact spot, just by the door. (He kicks the welcome mat away like that, too.) I think it's because this place is shaded, hence, cooler, and also because he wants to know when people are leaving. We can only speculate.

Day 19 - Puppy

My puppy on his first full day in his new home, our house. I took this photo while playing with him in our garage. He's an active pup, even though he doesn't look like it in this picture. He looks pensive here, which I think he also is. Anyway, we're calling him Jon Snow.

Day 18 - Puppies

My brother has a friend who owns one male and one female Labrador. The female gave birth to eight pups last January 11. They gave us one. :)

We got the one who is looking at the floor here. He looks sad in this photo, maybe because his brother is currently stepping on his back, but he made us really happy when we got him. :)

Day 13 - House Guests

Here be my brother's dogs Nicki and Ginger. They'll be at our house for the week as my brother and his wife and her family will be in Cambodia for a holiday.

I'm grateful to have them for the time being as they are super duper cute. :3

Day 298 - Photo Subject

One of the best uses for pets, I have found, is that they are neutral topics of conversation, or that no one will think too much about your being anti-social when you're playing with them, and that they're the easiest to convince to be a subject for your photos. I don't mean that they're easy to take a photo of, but at least when you take photos of them sleeping and post it on the internet, you're not a bad person for doing so, and they're not going to complain about it. ;)

So this is Gianni, my sister's parents-in-law's dog. He's very nice and easy to take care of. He's trained and everything. Also, very cute, as you can see.

Day 267 - Stay at Home and Play with the Dog Day

It's a religious holiday today in the Philippines (Good Friday) so all the shops and everything else are closed. People either stay at home, go to church, or go on holiday at some resort. We stayed at home and played with the dog. This is my sister's fiance with the family dog Brigham.

Day 191 - Teacup Poodle

I think the breed of dog I hate the most is the chihuahua, and then the poodle. I don't know, they're just not very cute/amazing to me. But I found out that there is such a thing as a teacup poodle, which because of its size, is just impossible not to find cute.

This is a photo of Austin, my relatives' dog. He's 2 years old and very smart (or so my uncle said). He's also very friendly, and really really cute, as you can see. He's so small!

Day 163 - Mutt in Boots

Admittedly, that is not the best title for this picture. I was going for a parallel with "Puss in Boots" except that it's for dogs, but I guess it doesn't work when you make changes like that. But I can't think of any better title right now so that'll have to do.

Brigham's got himself new shoes! My mom bought him shoes in the hopes that he can walk better, see he's got a birth defect -- one of his feet doesn't have toes, so it gives him sort of a limp. It's not major, though. But we hope these shoes can help anyway. Plus, they're very cute shoes.

BTW, I caught him yawning! Doesn't he look so weird? :P

Day 155 - Peering Out

Sometimes (actually very rarely), I go "jogging" at the park in front of our house in the morning. Our friendly dog always wants to come with me when he sees me leaving but he can't really go outside without his leash because he might get lost, and I can't really bring him because he's too heavy for me to control. And so he makes me guilty by sticking his nose out this space under our house's gate, this look of longing on his face.

Day 143 - Pet Love

I should've realized that this was Day 143 so I would've come up with a romantic entry. Because you know, 143. Although 143 isn't actually specific to romantic love, so I guess putting this picture of our dog is just fine. We love him too, anyway. :)

This is our dog Brigham, currently taking his bath, assisted by Ate E. It's his first bath after he got anti-rabies and de-worming shots last week. Anyway, doesn't he look happy on the second picture (right-top)?

Day 115 - At Play

Unlike our old dog (I still miss her sometimes :( ) who wasn't too sociable and was content with watching TV, our new dog Brigham (he's a little more than 6 months old) loves people and running around. I used to play with him a lot when he was a puppy (and therefore very small--I could carry him with one hand). Sometimes he would stand up on his hind legs and start pawing at me, which was cute when he could only reach my knees, but now that he's grown, he can reach past my waist, and so, I'm a little bit scared. Sometimes it's a source of fun around the house:

Me: Ang laki na ni Brigham. Nakakatakot na.
Brother: Ah, oo. Para sa'yo.

Fine. So I'm not the tallest person in the world. Whatever.

Anyway, I managed to take this snapshot because Brigham was preoccupied playing with my dad. Maybe next time I'll post a clearer and nearer picture of him, if he doesn't scare me first.

Day 3 - Sick Day

Our dog Brigham and his lunch

I felt ill yesterday night on the way home because of a splitting headache. So today I spent the day at home. I got to play with our dog, who we finally decided will be called Brigham (my brother's idea). He looks like a real dog now, as opposed to the chubby puppy he was just a few weeks ago. He's only 4 months old.

Picture was taken at the back of our house, right after our lunch, and just before his.
