Day 335 - Paraparaumu Beach

This is Paraparaumu Beach. It's about an hour drive away from Lower Hutt, I think. There weren't any people when we went, probably because it's not summer. We have been here during summer though, and on those times, we went crabbing. But today it was too cold to catch crabs, not that we planned on doing that.

P.S. Only 1 month (of course, it still depends on how many more days I skip taking photos) to go before the end of my 365 project. I'm kind of sad. What am I going to blog about after this?!

Day 257 - Marine Life!

Yesterday was chill out and relax at the resort day, so today was tour around Coron day! We went to the lakes and lagoons and hot springs and somewhere in the middle of the sea in an area called Siete Picados where we saw lots and lots of fish. That's where I took this photo (with my underwater camera!).

I'm actually kind of afraid of fish. When we were in Davao, a fish, that had teeth like a dog, bit my leg. But these fish are harmless. Or so they were in my experience. Anyway, I'm happy to see marine life and hopefully the seas don't get too polluted that they'll be around for a long long time.

Day 255 - Only One of the Destinations

Today our entire family rode an airplane. But here's the kicker: Not together, and not to the same destinations, i.e. my sister and E went to Hong Kong, my brother and M went to Boracay, and my mom, dad and I went to El Rio Y Mar Resort in Coron, Palawan. The photo is of the entrance of the resort. Pretty amazing. I mean, not just the resort, but the fact that semi-coincidentally, we all had a trip on the same day. :)

Day 186 - Requisite Jump Shot

I'm not the best photographer/camwhorer/jumper in the world so I really don't know what possessed me to take such a photo. I think, it was mostly to see if I could take a jump shot using my camera's timer while it was sitting on one of the beach chairs. I think I got the timing and framing right. Now I just have to work on looking better while jumping. That pose is totally ridiculous.

P.S. Somewhat iconic Pearl Farm Beach Resort Parola in the background. With a star on top! :D

Day 179 - Boat Ride

On our second day in Bataan, we took a boat ride to a nearby "white sand beach" and "cave". I used quotation marks because the sand on the beach wasn't really that white (it was more golden brown) and I know that from this picture, the cave behind me looks quite big, but actually it's more like a hole in the wall. But I'm not really complaining. I'm happy to have taken the boat trip as it was at least something else to do (because looking at old houses can get a little, well, old) and look! Clear water! :D

P.S. Photo was taken by my cousin B (but using my camera).

Day 68 - Beach Umbrella?

The weather was strange when we went to a tour of the Honda Bay Islands in Palawan, today. It would be sunny and very very hot one moment and raining and very very cold the next. You can even see how one side of the sky in this picture is dark, and the other side clear. Luckily for my friend K, her umbrella is both waterproof and has UV-ray protection. If I didn't know better, I'd say the makers of the umbrella made it specifically for days like these.

I took this picture while we were walking at Snake Island. The beach is more than a mile long so we didn't reach the end, but nevertheless had fun walking on the sand.

Day 40 - Sunset on the Beach

Sometimes I think that there is no better view than a sunset on a beach.

And then I see a sunset somewhere else and think that that view's just as good. Well, wherever it is, sunsets are always beautiful.

I took this one near the Sunset Bar & Grill of Nexus Hotel, where we stayed at for our second night in Kota Kinabalu. The beach is awesome (6-miles!) and the resort is huge and amazing. I definitely wouldn't mind going back.
