#46 - My Plants

Over the winter, I lost a few of my leaves due to poor sunlight and over-watering. So, I bought new soil, cut off the parts that have rotted and re-potted the healthy parts that were left. I managed to salvage only half of my snake plant, and my rubber plant, well, I lost the bottom part. I'm hoping that they like the new soil and that since it's springtime now, they'll grow better.

It's my first time to ever take care of plants, so I'm a bit anxious about them. But also really quite proud that they didn't immediately die as soon as they got into my hands. My Japanese yew plant, for instance (in the middle), had nothing strange happen to it in the winter and looks even a bit bushier than when I first bought it.

I never thought I would ever be the kind of person to take care of plants, much less, actually do something about them other than water them. I mean, I bought soil! But, it's actually a pretty fun pastime. Since I only have these three, and they're all low-maintenance indoor plants, it doesn't take too much of my time and effort to take care of them, but they bring me joy just the same. And I think they do add a a bit of life into my room, albeit they're in just one corner.

Day 360 - A Fan! Finally!

After some years (Yes, years. Plural.), I finally have enough money to buy myself a new electric fan. You see, a few years ago, the electric fan in my room broke, and my mom bought a new one, but instead of putting the new one in my room, she put it in my brother's room instead, and put the old fan in my brother's room into my room, claiming it was because the new fan she bought was black, and therefore did not go with my room's "blue theme". I didn't buy that reason, but of course, she defended herself by saying that it's my responsibility anyway to buy an electric fan for my own room because I'm the one who uses it. Conveniently, she doesn't mention at all why my brother doesn't need to buy his own electric fan. I only complain because the old fan that she put in my room was broken, too, and the only reason it worked was because our housekeeper is married to an electrician who repaired it. But because it's also an old fan, it breaks down every 4 months or so, and needs to be repaired again.

Anyway, yesterday it broke again and so I thought I should just buy a darn electric fan once and for all. Luckily, I finally have some money saved up, and so off I went to SM and bought myself this fan. And it's blue so it goes with my "blue themed room". So there.

P.S. Aside from food stuff and the blouse I bought last Saturday, which was necessary for the Christmas party I attended, this fan is the first thing I bought for myself with my salary from my new job. Hooray!

Day 297 - Laptop on Loan

Because I am poor, I have to borrow my sister's fiance E's laptop while I'm here. Lucky for me, he's got laptops coming out of his ears, so lending me this one for a few months doesn't interrupt his computer needs. At least, I hope not. Points if you can tell what movie is currently playing (not many points though because it's kind of obvious).

P.S. I think the red wall background is quite good for photo shoots. Maybe.

Day 286 - Messy "Desk"

I may be in a different place, and I may not have a real desk, but I'm messy just the same.

Day 212 - From Now On...

... I will watch TV in my parents' room. Hehe!

I was watching the BBC Documentary Planet Earth on this TV earlier and then when I went back into my room and watched TMZ on my TV, the screen was suddenly just soooo small. Great.

Day 200 - Desk Closed

This won't mean anything to anybody else, but it means a lot to me to finally be able to close my desk. Because, it has spent several years looking like this.

Today, I finished cleaning it so I was able to close it. That's right. I wasn't able to clean it in just one day. I even had to sleep in my someone else's room last night before because I hadn't finished fixing the stuff I temporarily placed on my bed. Lucky my brother's in another country. I should finish fixing my whole room before he comes back.

P.S. Today is my sister's birthday. Happy Birthday Ate!

Day 199 - And More Mess

Remember my messy desk?

Well, today I decided to partially fix it. Partial, meaning, it's just the tip of the iceberg of the mess in my room. As my sister said, "Parang sumuka ng kalat 'yung mga gamit." Doesn't that have a kind of poetry to it?

Anyway, this is a picture of the stuff that I temporarily placed on the bed while cleaning my desk.

Day 193 - Messy Desk 2

This week is quite boring and I randomly clicked my cellphone's camera on this part of my room while watching the Mara Clara remake.

Day 110 - Names and Kittens

This is mine and my sister's name on the door of the room that was formerly ours, but is now just mine because my sister's moved to New Zealand. It was put up there, maybe more than 10 (or 20?) years ago, when we were still kids. Other than because it has sentimental value, I'm not removing it because it's too high for me to reach, and there's no other place to put it anyway. Why fix it if it ain't broken, right?

Day 97 - My Own Worst Enemy

This is the time I woke up today. Too bad you can't see if it's AM or PM. But if I tell you, I wonder if you would believe me? I woke up at 6PM today. Yup, you read that right: I woke up at 6:00PM today.

I've completely destroyed my biological clock and am hoping to fix it this week. If only I can keep myself from dozing off in the middle of the day so that I wouldn't be so awake at night, and then manage to wake up before lunch time the next day.

In case it's not obvious, that's the clock in my bedroom. It's the first thing I look at whenever I wake up. I also frown at it occasionally.

Day 92 - Messy Desk

Pakalatan tayo ng desk. Ano, laban ka? :P Pwede na yata akong mag-guest sa Hoarders sa sobrang kalat nito. I promise you there is a desk somewhere underneath this mess.

I guess I should be ashamed. And I am, to a certain point. But you know, I do know exactly where things are if you ask me to find them. Not that that's a valid excuse. I really should get around to fixing this. It's almost Christmas again.

Day 65 - Where's My Monitor?

After 2 years and 5 months, a part of my computer finally gave up on me. Unfortunately, it's the entire monitor. It won't turn on even if I change the cable and plug it into different sockets, so I guess it's going to need some official repair. My dad finally took it out of my room and put it back into its box to take it to the service center, except that the service center has just told me that they don't actually "receive" units and are supposed to pick it up themselves.

Grr. Don't you just hate it when things give up on you and you have to go through this tedious process to have it fixed? :(

P.S. I'd apologize for the mess, but who will I be kidding? My desk/work station/computer table/life will be messy whatever I do anyway.
