Day 340 - Queens Drive, Lower Hutt

I cannot at all remember why I took this photo. Maybe I was looking at photos stored in my camera and took this by mistake. Either way, it's the only photo I took for today so by default, it's today's photo of the day.

Day 302 - Places to Wait

Today I went to the Japanese Embassy in Wellington for what, I suppose is their version of Eiga Sai, where they show one Japanese movie every last Tuesday and Thursday of each month. The movie I saw was Swing Girls, and it started at 6:30pm. It ended around 8:30pm, which meant that I missed the last bus I needed to take. My sister and her fiance E were nice enough to pick me up, and I sat on this bench as I waited for them. BTW, it was only around 9pm, but the area was already a ghost town. My sister tells me that's really normal.

Day 284 - Waiting for the Bus

My sister and E decided to have dinner at the city today, so I went and took the bus to get there. While waiting, I took this photo. Because that sky is awesome. :)

Day 144 - Project Bus Tickets

I don't remember why but when I started taking the bus regularly to go to school in college, I kept all the bus tickets I got during my freshman year. (If this isn't proof that I'm a hoarder, I don't know what is.) I think I maybe had some kind of project in mind that involved using them, but lost the idea over the course of time.

Anyway, today I found one of my stock unused notebooks lying around and noticed that its cover had some dirt on it, so rather than try and save its original appearance, which I don't think I could've anyway because it was already ruined by the dirt, I decided to cover it up using these bus tickets that had been waiting in my drawer since 2001.

I rode the bus practically everyday then so even after covering this notebook with these tickets, I still have a bunch left over. Maybe I'll use them for my next notebook. Or if I ever remember my original project idea that made me collect them in the first place.

Day 57 - Fort Bus Fail

Due to "faulty wiring", one of the older Fort Buses was suddenly on fire. Some officemates and I heard an exploding sound from our office on the 12th floor of a building near the area. At first we thought that it was something that fell from one of the buildings that were under construction, but it turned out to be this bus' engine.

I took this photo along with a few videos of the incident through the window of our office building. My camera's zoom worked overtime since I took this from the 12th floor. I wasn't the only one taking pictures, though. Just a few minutes later, the news of this was already on Twitter and in Yahoo! Philippines News.

Fortunately, the driver and all the passengers were already out of the bus when the fire started. But it does raise some questions about the old Fort Buses that we still see operating.

Day 45 - Office Bus

One of my officemates J, has never ridden the office bus (a free shuttle service for our company's employees) before, and said that he wanted to experience it at least once. It might be because of Fate that on his last day, while we were waiting for a cab (we thought the office bus had gone), the bus came late and he got to ride it. We (E, L and I) sat at the very back row. J's head is the one visible on the right side.
